Im surprised you get 39 mpg with the 3.0 TDI as i only get 40 mpg with the 2.0 TDI 170 Quattro. This is mostly motorway miles and i dont dry with the foot down all the time either. There are threads on here discussing MPG for the 2.0 TDI 170 Quattro and I haven't seen many registering MPG above 40-45.

Hey all, new to this Group. Thanks for having me. I’m also new to Audi’s. Just recently acquired a 2016 Audi A6 TDI Premium Plus. I’m coming from an M3. I wanted an A8 TDI and wasn’t sure of what trim levels were at the time. Wish I had researched a bit more, but i do plan on an A8 or in the future.

I had always heard that Audi/VW reliability issues were a problem, definitely some A 3.0 TDI A6 for example get much better mileage, but it also is give or take a 1,000 pounds lighter, and much more aerodynamic in terms of surface area when rolling down the road.
